I’ve spent the afternoon working on this painting. It’s a 6 inch by 9 inch pastel on Art Spectrum paper. While I was painting David was working outside where he found a beautiful caterpillar which he brought upstairs to share. It looked like it was made of felted wool and firmly attached its self to David’s work glove. When I went outside to photograph it an hour later it was still attached to his glove. The glove was laying on a tree stump. The caterpillar had been on an oak branch that David was in the process of chopping into smaller pieces.
