Charlotte was born a military brat. The family lived on 4 continents while she was growing up. She became aware of light and landscape at an early age. The passion for place led her to become an artist.
Recently Charlotte and her husband relocated away from the Yosemite area nearer to family. They currently live in Springville California. Her husband, David Hoffman, is a landscape and bird photographer.
Charlotte paints primarily with pastels. Most people are unaware that pastels are more archival, painted on an archival substrate, than oil paints. She does paint with oils as well.
She also enjoys pen and watercolor sketching and hand making journals. When not painting she enjoys her dogs, gardening, knitting and camping.
